Description

Solid Hardwood Platform Bed

Modular design solid hardwood platform bed is available in five sizes, three colors, four heights of head/foot board, and four styles of headboards.

This platform bed is part of our Modular Collection. The name is for the fact that bed is made of many building blocks which give you a lot of choices.

The modular design means you have zillions of options before your purchase and lots of possibilities in the future. This is because you can obtain parts and convert your item to something else. This is our only collection which we sell as a whole or by pieces.

Made of either birch, maple, or aspen premium knot free solid hardwood. You can not choose your wood type, the factory does it.

Usability

Platform bed is a type of bed that does not require use of a box-spring.

You can use our modular design platform bed for kids, teens and adults.

There are four choices for headboard heights, and they are: 40”, 36”, 31” and 18”. You can combine any of these sizes and make yourself a bed. For example, you can pair up 40” for your headboard, and use 18” as your footboard. We call this our 4018 model.

You can also choose your headboard styles and there are four to choose from which are Slat, Panel, Curve, and Ultra Low (our 18” H).

Please note that the Curve headboard is 4” taller than the rest due to the curve in the mid section.

Core Beds

A few head/foot board combinations of these platform beds we consider them as ‘core beds’. These two headboards are our core sizes: 31” and 36” and by extension, these beds: 3131, 3631, and 3636.

The most common headboard size in our Modular Collection line up is our 31” headboard. Just about all of our upper bunks, lofts, and daybeds use this size headboard. The next one is 36”. You can still use this size HB for upper bunks and lofts but not on daybeds.

41” headboard is only good for lower bunks and not in loft or daybeds. And 18” ultra low is exclusively we use for our beds and therefore these two are not part of our core beds.

Underbed Storage

This collection offers a variety of underbed storage solutions. Storage trundle is the most versatile as it gives you the option of adding an extra mattress or using it for storage.

Safety

This solid hardwood platform bed has a rating of 400 lb weight. In our factory we put 800 lb weight on this bed and it holded nicely - though we recommend it to stay within the range of actual rating.

If you are going to use this loft bed for younger kids, you can consider adding a front guardrail as well.

Assembly

Assembly of Modular Design platform bed is super simple. No need to assemble the headboards, just connect mattress rails, the guard rails, and slats.

Slats are made of knotty solid pine wood. They are about 2.5” wide and 2.5” apart from each other.

Mattress

Standard size mattress fits this platform bed just fine. We recommend using a six or eight inches thick mattress especially if you are planning to convert this platform bed to a bunk or loft later on.

For extra long versions, you do need an extra long size mattress and bed sheets which are readily available.
